Calling all Wine Lovers

Looking to stock up for the holidays and winter? We have the perfect fundraiser for you!

We’re hosting a Holiday Wine Survivor throughout November — it’s basically a raffle, but instead of cash, you win wine! At the same time, you’re supporting our Community Association, helping us offer free and affordable events and programs in our city.



The Details


Ticket Sales:November 1–15 — check back here for the ticket link! Updates will also be posted on Facebook and Instagram.


Cost:$40 per ticket for Members & $45 per ticket for Non-Members

  • 1/2 supports the Community Association

  • 1/2 goes toward the wine purchase

  • Each ticket sold adds one bottle of wine (average retail value of $25) to the prize pool.


Members Save:

  • $5 off each ticket — members will receive a promo code via email by October 31

    • To save on multiple tickets, you have to purchase one ticket at a time. The system will only allow for one discount to be applied to one ticket/order. 

  • Free Buy Back (valued at $15) — members get one .

  • So a $20 membership pays for itself.

Elimination and Survival

From November 19 – December 9, we’ll hold six draws to eliminate tickets.

If you’re eliminated from “Wine Island,” you can Buy Back In:

  • $15 per ticket

  • Members receive one free Buy Back

  • E-transfer $15 to payments@chph.ca within 24 hours of the elimination email being sent with the Memo "Buyback + Ticket # & Name". To claim your free buy back email payments@chph.ca within 24 hrs.

  • Each ticket can Buy Back in twice

  • No Buy Backs allowed for the final draw

All communication will be sent by email.


Prizes

The Final Draw will be held on Tuesday, December 9 during our Santa Photos event at St. Martin’s Church. Prizes will be awarded that evening.

Bonus Prizes:

  • First Kicked Off: One bottle of wine for the first ticket eliminated that accepts their elimination.

  • Most Tickets Purchased: Two bottles of wine. This person remains eligible for the main prizes.

    • In the event of a tie, a separate draw will determine the winner.

Main Prizes:

  • Third Place: 20% of total wine

  • Second Place: 30% of total wine

  • Grand Prize: 50% of total wine

Note: Percentages may be rounded in favour of the Grand Prize winner (since we can’t split a bottle).

Can’t attend the event? No problem — winners will be contacted to arrange drop-off or pick-up.

Draws 1–5 and the “Most Tickets Purchased” prize will be selected using an online random number generator. The final draw will be conducted manually in front of the finalists.


The Wine

Our in-house Sommelier will curate a selection of high-quality wines at a special discounted rate — no cheap or mass-produced bottles. We’ll be partnering with a local Calgary small business, keeping true to our community focus.


Additional Rules

  • All ticket holders must be 18 years of age or older and able to present valid government-issued photo ID to claim prizes.

  • Open to all adults in Calgary — the more participants, the bigger the prize so get your friends in for some healthy competition before the holidays- or work together to split the prize!
