Canada 150 Celebration on the Hill September 2, 9-4 pm

The countdown is on!  The SCA is co-hosting this fun event with the communities of Coach Hill, Patterson Heights, Springbank Hill, Signal Hill and West Springs/Cougar Ridge.

We have lots planned for the day including:

  • Citizenship Ceremony
  • Flag Raising Ceremony
  • FREE Pancake Breakfast hosted by Mike Ellis, MLA (for first 2,500 people)
  • Open House
  • Multicultural Entertainment Stage
  • Outdoor Family Areas
  • BBQ Lunch (Available for purchase)
  • Meet Bret Hart and Calgary Roughnecks Players!

You can participate in our Art Show and Lego Competition!

Art Show: We are looking for art that celebrates Canada, Youth, Diversity, First Nations and the Environment.  Art will be displayed at the SCA on September 2 at the Celebration on the Hill event and should be delivered to the SCA on September 1.  For more information contact: info@scacalgary.ca

LEGO Competition:  The theme is ‘What I love about Canada’.  Age categories are: 5/6 years, 7/8 years, 9/10 years, 11/12 years, 13/14 years.  Exhibit drop off is Friday, September 1, 5:30-8:30 pm


There will be NO PARKING ON SITE.  Please take advantage of our Park & Walk and Park & Ride locations.

Shuttle Times – Bus service will be running every 20 minutes from these locations beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Other Things to Know

  • There will be no parking on site
  • Drop off for people with mobility issues will be available in front of Olympic Heights School (in the kiss and drop area)
  • No pets
  • No smoking
  • Bring a water bottle for the water station
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult
